PROGRESSION OF THE FIRST WEEK - from the 19th Annotation of St. Ignatius

FIRST WEEK
Purpose: The purpose of these Exercises is to help you to conquer yourself, and to regulate your life so that you will not be influenced in your decisions by any inordinate attachment.

Review the following:
PRINCIPLE AND FOUNDATION
EXAMINATION OF CONSCIENCE: to be made everyday
Ideally, this should be done everyday at the following times:
  1st: in the morning
  2nd: after the noon meal
  3rd: after the evening meal
However, if you only get one chance to do it everyday, do it before you retire each night.
